City Clerk
The present City Clerk is Ron Mortimer.  The  City Clerk receives no pension or health care benefits from the City of Pittston. His hours are flexible but are generally 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m daily The office staff includes the Code Enforcement officer, who also serves as an administrative assistant to the City Clerk, one full-time and one part-time secretarial clerk. The City Clerk has many duties in the City of Pittston. Although the City Clerk has administrative duties as determined by the City Council, the Mayor and City Council ultimately make all administrative decisions. The City Clerk's duties include the following:

*helps carry out the decisions of the City Council

*works as the chief assistant to the Mayor and Council

*keeps the records of the City

*prepares the agenda for the council meetings

*serves as the pension administrator

*prepares all official press releases

*signs official documents for the City at the direction of the City Council

*informs the members of council of all formal complaints
