The Pittston Police Department is working to develop a police canine initiative to enhance police operations. The City is soliciting donations for the cost of purchasing the highly trained dog and other start-up costs. Click here for more information. The Pittston City Police Department, under the direction of Chief Robert Powers, provides full-time protection to city residents, visitors and businesses. The Police Department is located in City Hall. For police emergencies, please call 911.  The Mayor and City Council also recently promoted 2 long-time dedicated members of the police department. Neil Murphy was promoted to Detective/Sergeant and William Curry to Sergeant. The below photo shows them being sworn into their new positions at the January 2013 city council meeting:
