Pittston City Hall - Pittston City Police Department




The Pittston Police Department is working to develop a police canine initiative to enhance police operations. The City is soliciting donations for the cost of purchasing the highly trained dog and other start-up costs.  Click here for more information. 

The Pittston City Police Department, under the direction of Chief Robert Powers, provides full-time protection to city residents, visitors and businesses.  The Police Department is located in City Hall.  For police emergencies, please call 911.

The City recently hired 2 additional full-time police officers, Kyle Shumosic and Sam DeSimone, who were sworn in at the April 17th City Council meeting by District Justice Andrew Barilla, Jr.  In the below photo, left to right: City Councilman Samuel "Danny" Argo; Officer Shumosic taking the oath; Officer DeSimone; and District Justice Barilla:

The Mayor and City Council also recently promoted 2 long-time dedicated members of the police department. Neil Murphy was promoted to Detective/Sergeant and William Curry to Sergeant.  The below photo shows them being sworn into their new positions at the January 2013 city council meeting:
