Program Supervisor for Parks (Temporary)
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as our Program Supervisor and join our team for the Summer. As a Program Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our summer park programming and camps. You will be responsible for creating, designing, and implementing youth programs for the City’s brand-new summer parks program. You will also be responsible for managing a small staff.
Camp Attendant for Parks (Temporary)
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as our Camp Attendant and join our team for the Summer. As a Camp Attendant, you will aid in the day-to-day operations of our summer park programming and camps. You will be responsible for aiding in carrying out youth programs for the City’s brand-new summer parks program.
PART-TIME POLICE OFFICER
The City of Pittston is accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Police Officer. Applicants must have Act 120 certification and a valid PA driver’s license. Verification of credentials and a background check are a part of the hiring process. Applications may be obtained at Pittston City Hall, 35 Broad Street, Pittston, PA 18640, Monday-Friday 9am to 4pm. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Be 18 years of age
- Be a U.S. citizen in good standing
- Be able to read, write and speak the English language
- Be a high school graduate or possess a GED
- Possess current Pennsylvania Act 120 Certidication
- Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Driver’s License
- Must be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer
Part-Time Laborer—Streets & Sanitation
The City of Pittston is now accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Laborer for the Departments of Streets & Sanitation. Hours are variable but typically begin at 5:30am or 7:00am Monday-Friday at a wage of $14.63 per hour. Part-time staff are typically scheduled for 28 hours per week but occasional additional hours are required as conditions require.
The primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to: streetside collection of garbage and recycling and collection of yard waste/leaves; other duties include maintenance of roadways, street signs and sanitary/storm sewers; wee-whacking/grass mowing/brush cutting; maintenance of vehicles/equipment, parks & public property. Applicants must be able to pick up 50lbs; perform repetitive collection; ride on platforms on a moving vehicle; work outdoors in all types of weather; demonstrate experience in working safely in traffic and around heavy equipment and be able to work well with a team of co-workers.
