The 2017 Farmer’s Market begins Tuesday, July 11th and will be held every Tuesday until Thanksgiving from 10:00 to 4:00.
Enjoy summer by visiting the Pittston Farmers’ Market held every Tuesday 10am-4pm in the Tomato Festival Lot off South Main Street. The market brings in vendors from all over the area to sell their harvests as well as other healthy foods such as pork, beef, sauces, baked goods, jams and more.
Market vendors include Rowland’s Greenhouse, Pittston Popcorn, Creations by Jacquie, Maa’s Handmade Goat Milk Soaps and Body Products, Beta Bread Bakery, Jubilee Balloons, Paul’s Plum as well as Golomb’s Farms & Greenhouses, Dymond’s Farm, Hidden Creek Vineyard and Winery from Laceyville and Brace’s Orchard. The Community of Economic Development will offer nutritional guidance and free samples and recipes and don’t forget Tim’s Chili which will be starting later in the summer when tomatoes ripen for his canned tomatoes and chili! Stop by for a great time and check out the variety of fresh produce and baked goods.
July 25 – Children’s Day – 10:00 to 2:00 – All Free Activities
- CEO will provide children with grow your own herb kits and teach them how to make infused water
- Jubilee Balloons for balloon sculptures
- Deb DeBonis will be available for Facepainting
- Sing along from 11:00 to 1:00 with musician Mary Baker
- A special visit by Snow White
- Friends of the Pittston Library will be giving away free Children books. and chances will be sold for gift cards totaling $500. Drawing will take place on August 28th.
Free Summertime Activities for Children
10:30 – Storytime with Kristen Boettger at the Pittston Children’s Library.
10:00 to 11:00 – Children can explore a fire truck at the Pittston City Fire Headquarters on Kennedy Street. A Pittston City ambulance will also be available for the children to explore and learn about emergency care. Handouts will be given to the children by the Fire Co and Ambulance
11:00 to 1:00 – Children’s Sing Along with musician Mary Baker
10:00 to 11:00 – Jeff Evans, Art Illustrator and owner of Paint N Pinot will guide children in painting a 3×5 fruit or vegetable picture.
